Washington
County was created on March 28, 1781, from part of Westmoreland
County and named in honor of George Washington. Washington,
the county seat, was laid out in 1781, incorporated as a borough
on February 12, 1810 and chartered as a city in 1924. Washington
County is situated in the southwestern section of Pennsylvania,
west of the Monongahela River.
Shoppers

shops throughout the area. Water enthusiasts will enjoy fishing
and boating along the Monongahela River or any of the lakes.
Visitors will also find both exciting and leisurely entertainment.

golf courses, including Quicksilver, a championship quality
course that serves as home to the Pittsburgh Senior Classic
PGA tour.
